Mission Statement
The mission of the variety Club of the Delaware Valley is to provide programs and services to children with disabilities. They design these programs and services to best address their physical, social, medical, educational, and recreational needs without regard given to their economic status, race, creed, gender, or type of disability.
Variety Club serves children between birth and 18 years of age with temporary or permanent disabilities resulting from injury, illness, or congenital conditions. We serve children with disabilities residing in the following counties in the Delaware Valley region:
Pennsylvania: Berks, Bucks, Chester, Delaware, Lancaster, Lebanon, Lehigh, Montgomery, and Philadelphia
New Jersey: Atlantic, Burlington, Camden, Cape May, Gloucester, Mercer, Ocean, and Salem
Delaware: Kent and New Castle
Program Summary
Variety Club provides a number of programs and services to children with disabilities within the greater Delaware Valley region. We also provide funding to other organizations that support children with disabilities as part of their mission. This is an outline of the programs and services we provide and the organizations that we fund.
Variety Club Camp and Development Center - Is a nationally acclaimed 80 acre facility located in the rolling hills of Worcester Twp, Montgomery County, PA. In continuous operation since 1949, the facility is totally winterized for use on a year round basis.
The George D. Widener Indoor Sports Pavilion houses an Olympic-size swimming pool, basketball courts, gymnasium, and weight training room. The Camp and Developmental Center has 23 cabins, a dining and kitchen facility, medical building, arts & crafts center, computer and A/V labs, ball fields, outdoor amphitheater, recreation hall, two outdoor pools, and a playground. All Facilities are completely accessible to persons with disabilities
Direct Care for Kids - This unique program provides medical equipment and devices directly to the children and their families. Wheelchairs, braces, monitors, prosthetic devices, and other aids for daily living are furnished at no charge to the families. Where managed care programs stop Direct Care for Kids starts.
Sunshine Coaches - This special program is made possible by the Ford Motor Company and Variety Clubs International. The vans are provided to organizations, schools, and institutions for transporting disabled children to and from therapy and/or recreational activities.

Variety at Work - Variety volunteers donate their time, talent, and resources to provide fun and therapeutic recreational activities for our children. Some of these activities are the annual Holiday Light Show, The Children's Holiday Party, The Sesame Place Challenge, and other activities such as trips to the Philadelphia Zoo, the circus, and many professional sporting events. Caring members of our community sponsor these events.
Scholarships - Through a fund graciously established by the Orlowitz family, children with disabilities receive assistance paying for their college education. Variety Club Camp and Developmental Center Counselors who have worked for more than one year for Variety Club are also eligible.
Support - Variety Club has channeled millions of dollars throughout the years to worthy institutions and organizations that also serve children as part of their mission. Organization receiving assistance from Variety Club include The Children's Seashore House, Hahnemann Hospital, Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, St. Christopher's Hospital for Children, and many others

Special Events - Many events and affairs happen throughout the year. All take place with one goal in mind: Raising money for our children's programs. Here's a listing of some of our major events
